^^^ Yes.  The first time I saw the original post come across my dash, I knew it was incredibly problematic, but didn’t have the capacity to address it, and certainly not to do so as pithily as lovewallace has done.  The original post erases the individual experiences of millions by negating the diversity of culture, sex, gender, religion, etc., that is a significant part of the human experience, as well as ignoring inequalities of power that make the difference between “opinion” and “racism”.

Body Appreciation

I injured my ankle/foot this weekend. There’s a tendon behind my medial malleolus that I think is the culprit. But basically it hurts to walk and stand. It stupid how because of this injury I can’t go to the gym (no car, need to walk a mile to get to gym) and it’s made me really appreciate my body.

I’ve been trying to go from 140-145 down to 125 for the past… oh… about 8 years. And I realized the past couple days, I’m not overweight. I want to lose weight mainly because of vanity, not really because of health. And I really just need to treat my body well and it’ll take care of itself.
